"Work hard in silence, let your success be the noise.”
This quote has spoken to me a lot recently. I have been trying to get a foot in the door with my blog. I wanted to be apart of something that was bigger than me and instead of telling everyone and talking about it, I decided that I needed to take steps and put in work to reach my dreams. Every day I celebrate my small successes because I know that I put in the work and I have something to show the world.
“ As you draw nearer to the Lord, he will guide you to be the best version of yourself.”- M. Russell Ballard
I have always proclaimed that I am a Christian. Have I been the most devoted Christian? Probably not. It’s in those times where I think that I’m living my own life that I start to battle my inner self. It’s when I feel like I can’t continue or when I break down that I remember that this is not my life to live. The Lord has destined me for something bigger and better than I could even imagine. I then have to reconnect with God so that he can guide my life and mold me into the woman he wants me to be.
“If you want to change, you have to be willing to be uncomfortable.”
I referenced this quote all the time when I first moved to Kansas City. I knew I was here for a reason. I knew that the internal battles I was fighting were for a reason. I needed to make a change and I knew that as hard as this change was, I’d come out a better person. Every time I try something new or something that scares me, I know that means I’m about grow in ways I didn’t even think I needed to grow.
“If you see something beautiful in someone, speak it.”
The power of a compliment. There are too many times where we take the opportunity to bring people down. To attack their flaws. As a young woman, I can see the damaging effects these comments have on people. I try my best to compliment people, to see the good in them. Don’t be afraid to tell someone your positive thoughts. It doesn’t take anything away from me to give someone else a compliment. You never know what a compliment could do for someone.
“Choosing to be positive and having a grateful attitude is going to determine how you are going
to live your life.”
Since I was little I have been told that I have always been a happy person. As I got older and life started to happen I had to actively choose to be positive. I had to work hard to see the silver-lining in situations. I believe in the power of positive thinking. I believe that when you have positive thoughts that leads to positive actions. It’s okay to be down and sad, but you have to be thankful for what you have and from that you’ll see that things are not so bad.
